What I expect from my cafeteria

As a Student of Seton Hall Preporatory School in West Orange, New Jersey I am satisfied by the quality and selection of the school cafeteria. I am satisfied because I take into account that the chef’s are try their best with the ingredients the school supplies them. Considering I attend an all male school, it is great that there is always a high protein choice for the football players and a low carb solution for the wrestlers. The lunch lady always has pre-made turkey sandwich raps for on the go and she has a different main course for lunch each day.  When I don’t want something too heavy, the school salads are delicious with strips of chicken. But just because I am satisfied by the menu does not mean I don’t think it should be improved. The classic New Jersey “Taylor, ham, egg and cheese” is extremely greasy, overcooked and rubbery, unless devoured in ketchup to make it easy to swallow. This is very unappetizing in the morning.  There is no oatmeal along with cereal that is mostly low in fiber and high in sugar. When I get to college I expect a heart healthy breakfast selection for Division One athletes as well for the entire University. Schools need to help students who don’t make smart decisions by eliminating temping choices in the food court. If my future college expects me to perform well on and off the field I need to be fed the proper food that will help me work throughout the day.
