A strong example of Media Convergence in the post 2010 film industry is mobile video. The idea that people can access a film, documentary or tv show in the palm of their hand makes video media easier and more manageable. This is helpful for certain people who are unable to get to a tv or computer to watch a film or a show. By simply opening their phone or downloading a specific app, people can get easily tuned in to whatever film they want to view. I think the main idea here is that people are more likely to use devices that make their lives easier and more manageable. Users are demanding, and they want to view certain films and shows whenever it is convienient for them. To people to purchase a film on a phone or ipad on the go is the biggest media shift in the film industry that is beneficial to everyone.
Media Convergence 10 years in the future
With the way that technology is advancing and continues to improve and get better, I think that media convergence will continue to impact society as people think of new ways to get things done. In 10 years I think there is going to be nothing that a smartphone can not accomplish.
