Croatia

This past weekend I went to the exotic country of Croatia. First of all, if you haven’t been to Croatia before, you absolutely need to go there. I went with the company bus2alps for this trip and I really loved every minute of it. Other than the 15 hour bus ride there, bus2alps did it right. They provided us with a good size hostel right in the city of Split and offered us different exurcions each day.

The first day we got there I was running on about 3 hours of sleep by the time we arrived in Croatia at 9 am. We immeditely left the city of Split and drove up the mountains in Croatia to go white water rafting. The drive up the mountain was gorgeous and was nothing like I have ever seen before. I kept thinking we were going to fall or tip over because we were so high up and the drop down was terrifying. We got to the top of the mountain then went for a 4 hour raft down the mountain. During my time rafting I was so content. I didn’t need anything else in the world I was just so content with the nature, waterfalls and mountains surrounding me.

As far as nightlife goes, Croatia was wild. Bus2alps provided pub crawls both nights that took you to 3 different bars and finished on a outdoor club on the beach. Croatia reminded me of the island of Sardinia, except Italians definitely stay up later.

On saturday, I went island hopping with my friends. Almost everyone from the program went island hopping so it was a good time. We took a small boat to the islands nearby and had a Croatian lunch on the boat. Croatia was so relaxed and had some of the clearest ocean water I have ever seen. We ended the weekend visiting Krka National Park and got to enjoy the scenery of Krka Waterfall which was absolutely breathtaking.
