Amalfi coast and enchanting isles: Pompeii, Sorrento & Capri
I finally made it to the Amalfi Coast. Amalfi is now my second favorite place in Italy, next to Sardinia of course. It was beautiful. I started the weekend off hiking Mount Vesuvius which was incredible. The hike took about an hour and the entire time up walking up I was in the clouds. The hostel I stayed at was in the small town of Sorrento which was absolutely gorgeous and filled with tiny shops, , homemade limoncello and beautiful beaches.
Although Sorrento was toriesty, it was a great city and filled with exciting nightlife. The next day I went to Capri which was by far my favorite part of the trip. The day started with a boat cruise around the island. The highlights of Capri were the enchanting Blue Grotto, the rocky beaches and lunch on the very top of the island. I spent my last day getting a tour of Pompeii. Pompeii was exactly what I pictured it to be. Old ruins and a city that was buried under lava.
